Huizhou of Guangdong Province is located adjacent to Shenzhen and Hong Kong, with Heyuan City in the north, Shanwei City in the east, Dongguan City and Guangzhou City in the west, and is one of the central cities in the Pearl River Delta. It is also a city in the Greater Bay Area.
Huizhou governs 2 districts and 3 counties being Huicheng District, Huiyang District, Huidong County, Boluo County, Longmen County and also has two state-level development zones: Daya Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Zhongkai High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
Huizhou is one of the important settlements and centers of the Hakka people. Most of Huizhou residents speak Hakka dialects, some speak Cantonese or Fuyu dialect (slang), and there are mixed dialects, while most also speak the common language, Mandarin.

Huizhou Airport 惠州机场 – Huizhou Pingtan Airport (HUZ) is located 20 km from the city center. Huizhou Airport has opened 13 domestic routes including Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Kunming, Chongqing, Chengdu, Haikou, Xi’an, Changsha, Nanning, Jinan, Nanjing, and Guiyang.
There are 5 bus lines for transfers between areas of Huizhou and the airport which all cost 1.5 RMB:

- Huizhou South Station 惠州南站 – Fast trains on the Shenzhen-Xiamen Line you can reach Shenzhen North Station, Chaoshan, Xiamen, and Quanzhou. You can also reach Guangzhou East Station, Guangzhou South Station, and Dongguan Station.

It is estimated that by 2020, Huizhou will be strongly interconnected with Guangzhou and Shenzhen via three high-speed rail lines and nine high-speed rail stations. Among them, the Shenshen High-speed Railway has three stations in Boluo North, Huizhou North, and Zhongkai Station. The Hirose high-speed railway has four stations in Luofu Mountain, Boluo, Huicheng South and Huidong. The Xiamen-Shenzhen high-speed railway that has been opened to traffic has two stations in Huizhou South and Huidong Station. Moreover, through intercity lines, Huizhou North Station and other sites will form a hub, allowing multiple areas of Huizhou to achieve rapid connection with developed areas such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
