Guangzhou Zoo

The Guangzhou Zoo is located in the eastern section of Xianlie Middle Road. It was built in 1958 and is one of the country’s major zoos along with the Beijing Zoo and Shanghai Zoo. The zoo is suitable for family-friendly activities. It is a well-maintained zoo and has a good reputation for animal care and conservation.

Here you can see China’s national treasure giant pandas and golden monkeys, South China tigers, elk, black-necked cranes and other rare animals. The list is impressive including African elephants, lions, pumas, leopards, tigers, rhinos, bears, chimps, giraffe, zebra, kangaroo, alpacas, deer, swans, ducks, emus, ostrich, pink flamingos, crane, crocodiles, turtles, numerous birdlife, butterflies and other animals from all over the world.

The zoo is rather large and there is a hop on hop off cart which travels a circuit throughout the park. I recommend making use of that. There are a lot of sections and enclosures here and it’s the kinda place where you can miss a lot of animals so be sure to grab a map and I’ll include a link to one at the bottom of the page.
