Sun Yat-sen Memorial

The Zhongshan Memorial Hall is a monumental building built to commemorate the great revolutionary Sun Yat-sen. It has witnessed many historical events in Guangzhou and is commemorative. It is now an important venue for large-scale gatherings and performances in Guangzhou. Here you can see the introduction and life of Sun Yat-sen, and come here to remember Mr. Sun Yat-sen.

It was located in the south of Yuexiu Park and was started in 1929 and completed in 1931. The transportation of the memorial hall is very convenient.

The main building is a magnificent and magnificent octagonal palace-style building. It is rich in traditional Chinese characteristics. In the center, there is a lacquered gold plaque with a red bottom and a blue rim. The theme building is like a performance hall, and there are also many concerts held here. There are many pictures and texts on the wall, introducing the construction of the memorial hall and the introduction of Sun Yat-sen. Behind the memorial hall is an independent small room – Sun Yat-sen’s historical site exhibition hall, which also introduces Sun Yat-sen’s life.

In addition, there are some plants worth seeing here, such as the kapok tree in Guangzhou and the white orchid in Guangzhou.

Opening hours:
The main building of the Zhongshan Memorial Hall is open from 8:30 to 18:00, and the Guangzhou Museum and the Western Han Dynasty Nanyue King Tomb Museum are open from 9:00-17:30.
